Wingipedia Goes to Cambridge, Mass.

They say you get what you pay for.

So when I put some complimentary wings on my plate at our school's monthly happy hour at Redline in Cambridge I wasn't expecting much. I guessed I'd be biting into some bland seasoning clinging to some fatty wings. A sad reward for consuming 600 calories.

But upon tasting the flavorful, crispy wings, I was pleasantly surprised. I had anticipated eating only one of the three drummies that I snagged from the food table before the entire supply was decimated in a matter of seconds, but I ended up eating all three myself. Would I go back for more? If they're free, absolutely. If I have to pay, Im not so sure. While these wings were quite tasty, they were not dripping in buffalo sauce, the way they make them at my undergrad campus hangout in Washington DC, The Tombs. (I am eager to try Duffies' Wings, highly reviewed by this wing encyclopedia web log and by City Paper-- I have always bestowed the title of the Best Wings in DC to The Tombs).

But back to Cambridge. Great friends, good beer, and smooth jazz-- a band of three chem Ph.D students who shared a love for half-lives and half notes-- raised the overall experience to an indisputable five on the rating scale. Next month, I'll be back.
